Web Videos for Businesses and Services

Do you realise how important it is to have a video to promote your business on the internet?

Businesses and service providers are growing in awareness and recognising the importance of promotional videos.

People are switching off their televisions and advertising on the TV is getting cheaper and cheaper and all because of the internet.  People are sick and tired of being forced fed TV programmes and watching very expensive commercials that frankly has little or no interest to them.  The Internet has given everybody the option of being in complete control, watching what they want, when they want and how they want.

Let’s be honest the web video that you will probably produce and have playing on your own website or You Tube might be viewed only a few times during the year or depending on further work from you i.e. promoting the video on various other sites it maybe the best thing for your business since sliced bread.

This is general advice for small businesses and service providers that would normally not spend thousands of pounds in promotion and producing marketing videos because realistically you should not have to spend that much.  After all if you did have that type of budget to produce a video with such high production values (but which often forget the objectives) then you should definitely attempt to have the video broadcast or if you do get quoted a silly amount and you are willing to pay it then please get in contact with ITV or Channel 4 because it may only be a little more money to have a broadcasted advertisement for your business.

A web video does give the clear impression to your potential customer that you have thought of their needs and been professional enough to put yourself out there as a contender.  Show that your business or service is important, special and can be useful to them or at least show that you are relevant for them before they do give you a call.

Not only is it useful to have a video in order to increase your web presence and attempt to divert more traffic to your website but we feel that it is extremely important for your potential customer to see your business, how it operates and who they will be dealing with and for you to give it that personal touch.  This builds your customers confidence in you, so that these customers will call you and hopefully remain your customer for the foreseeable future.

Each video should be unique and showcase the individuality of your business and why you should be chosen by your customers.  Always remember that style is not as important as the content, and you have to remember that you are introducing your business or service to your customers for potentially the first time.

A promotional web video for businesses or services providers should generally be between 1-3 minutes long as any longer and you seriously risk your customer to switch off.

It is also advisable to get straight to the point and as quickly as possible because the internet gives the viewer the option of easily switching to another channel or fast forwarding and I am sure that most viewers will appreciate not to have their time wasted and be grateful to be told what to expect within the first 30 seconds or even less.

If you were your own customer what would you want to see?

I hope we have not confused you too much but the whole point of this article is to get you thinking about what you may need and the importance of web promotional videos for your business or service.
